Have you considered an Olympus SP-100EE?
Huge optical zoom, image stabilisation, has both a viewfinder and the rear screen.....for my use, I'm planning on it as my next camera.
It isn't a changeable lens style of camera, or a true SLR, but its pretty much the Rolls Royce of "point and shoot" cameras that does both pics and video.
Just depends what your needs are....its much cheaper than an SLR body/lens system camera.
