Default Rubicon Sway Bar Disconect

The sway bar notification is flashing in my instrument cluster which obviously means there is a problem.
So far I have:
Undone one side of the bar arms and yes the sway bar is moving freely.....it has not locked back in;
Disconnected the electrical connection on the sway bar motor....dash light still flashing;
Completley removed the sway bay from the vehicle and unbolted and removed the motor.
Reconnected the sway bar motor (without the sway bar) to the car and tried to operate the sway bar switch in the car however the motor appears to not do anything.
I assume the motor is the problem unless I have missed anything,
Do I dismantle the motor or is there no point?
Can anyone tell me across what pins at the sway bar I can test for voltage?
Anyone got any helpful links?
