Since I cut out the suitcase exhaust, changed plugs and general consumables I see a consistent 13 - 14 and I tend not to pussy foot around, mostly short trips during the week too, under 15 minutes.
I did over 750 k's last weekend, just under 300 of that on sand and giving it lots of balls on the hills of the Border Track and it turned up at 13.8 for the whole trip, way less than my mates 4 cyl Hilux and only a hair more than my mates new TD Prado.
