Try some 2000 grit paper to take the new paint off and 4000 to smooth it out and cut and polish. If its to metal or primer you will need to paint it

Not heavily scratched, was pretty light contact against a smooth bollard, didn't see it reversing and swing the nose up against it. Think just the friction pulled the paint across, once I can get that paint off I'll be able to see clearly if I've cut through anywhere but not expecting much more than a rock chip. Was going to try turps but not sure if that'll mess up the finish on the bar and if there might be a light solvent more suitable?
