I have a 2010 CRD Auto and I run 4.88 with a 315/70r17

Generally manuals will get a recommendation for 4.56 ratios on this forum for the same tyre

I think the issue is that most Aussies aren't familiar with running their Jeeps at 120km/h. We'd generally run at 100 or 110 so we're happy to go to a numerically higher ratio.

You're also driving in the mountains though so you need good low down power.

It will be a compromise to find a solution that suits high speed, steep inclines and alsoo be capable of running 315/70r17.

I would recommend a simple GDE engine tune for some more power, but then you may end up with clutch issues (aftermarket clutches are available now I believe)

I would also say do not rush to put 315 tyres on your jeep in the space of 3 weeks, it needs decent planning

Off-road, A 2 door doesn't really need 315's. It will be very capable with a 285/70r17
