a bit of both really, it has the stock trackbar on it and the steering has quite a bit of play. I have upgraded the steering damper but my mechanic recommended doing the trackbar. Are bushings hard? I hear that you need a special tool to put them in.
The new trackbar would be more expensive but an easier upgrade option in terms of time.

Where are you?
Good bushes will make it drive heaps better. The trackbar could be contributing, however, the balljoints and tie-rod ends could also be contributors too.
