Which is the case in every stop start you do. If there was an oil accumulator system in the car I would say other wise, however I am yet to see a factory engine with this system.
I agree with MidnightMods on this one. Taxi engines tend to have a long life as they do a lot of continual running hours which means the temps & oil pressures remain fairly constant over a longer period which = less engine wear.
Imagine towing a caravan or boat in traffic. Having a hot engine start/stopping all the time = heat soak on turbo's, crank bearings etc & no oil flowing to continually dissipate the heat.
