Thermostat housing failure
Had a fairly spectacular failure of my thermostat housing a few days ago. Was overtaking a car at 100kh, had given the throttle a boot full when a huge cloud of steam came out the rear.
Blew a piece out of the housing directly above the thermostat. Hadn't heard of this before, might just be a one off. When looking where the water comes from it looks like it's running down the top hose to the bend.
2012 JKU 3.6L with about 120K km.
Was easy to replace.
