Here is an great website for getting started with ECU tuning. It will show an image of the MPPS V13 required, and explain the software. It is very well written. I am on the search for a better way to create the "checksum" and will post on this thread once I find something.

For the TCU, you need a KTag. This process is more involved and requires opening up the TCU and soldering on additional wires. The original KTag is very expensive, but there are many clones around that appear to be working well.

The ECU tuning can be done directly through the OBD port with no physical modifications.
