Just to keep things above board, Border Security isn't fictional – it's genuinely filmed in Aus airports with real passengers and cases.
I've seen them kicking around a couple of times; basically if something seems interesting a producer will come ask the passenger for their consent to film, and then if they agree, the cameras come rushing in.
