Default JL Rubicon Intercooler coolant leak

SWMBO's JL diesel Rubicon had a check engine light come on the other day and was at the dealer to get an air cleaner and fuel filter replaced that weren't done at the service as they were out of stock. On pickup the check engine light was still on so SWMBO asked why and was told that there was a leak in the intercooler. She drove home with much diminished performance and I had a look at it.
It has no coolant in the auxiliary (intercooler) coolant reservoir and there is clearly a coolant leak at the front of the engine. Radiator and recovery tank are both OK. It's booked in for the dealer to look at it on the 5th and it will go for a ride on a tilt tray to get there.

Anyone else had problems with the water to air intercooler losing coolant, the dealer seemed a little too familiar with what the problem might be.

That makes three non functional Jeeps at our house at the moment, the JL, SWMBO's CJ10 is waiting on front axle bits that are in the air between the US and Sydney as we speak and youngest daughter's TJ which is suffering from a bent track rod mount after an unplanned offroad excursion (operator error) All the Land rover products at our place are fully functional at the moment though (touch wood)
