The W58 recall which is the software upgrade in case the reluctor plate craps out has been applied in Australia, if your VIN was on the list a letter was sent out, I thought it prudent to get it done ...... My recall named 14-17 models The W68 recall, being replacement of said plate hasn't appeared here yet, supply of parts or in hope that the vehicles maybe off road before problems appear, who knows ...
Then again a check of the Australian recall site throws up the W90 recall for 2016-2020 Grands and sounds like the fault described by the OP but with only 111 vehicles affected and a vin list is supplied.... https://www.vehiclerecalls.gov.au/recalls/rec-001593
