Default Rockcrawling tyres

With the advent of Aussie Rock crawling, its interesting to see different opinions on tyres to use.

I have noticed through my own experience that the likes of a MT Claw is great on strength, on sharp dry rock, but put it on a slippery wet rock and you really need to get the ponies up to get traction.

I personally now feel that a road going style, ie closed thread like a GY Wrangler tyre or a SX Swamper would be a better bet over the big lugs.

What is also interesting to see is the size choice, most are going for a 37", manufactures are following the trend and using tha tas a standard size. This is fine, light weight etc for a moon buggy, but what happens when you wanna build a TT style vehicle. You loose out on some really well designed rubber like the Krawlers.

Pfft!
