I don't know anything much about break line (I know you're surprised) but can't you just get a longer bit of hose stuff and stick it on instead of the old bit? I thought it was just that bit of hose down by the front wheel that I can see inside the wheel arch (I presume it looks similar at the back but haven't looked).
