Good Service records appear to make no difference. Two guys in Aust are about to start legal action re this problem which FCA has ignored for years They have started a private facebook link re this problem and have many owners joining in Aust ,At least one a day. This is a massive problem in US.Even near new Rams here with the hemi motor getting the lifter failure.I have a 60000 k as new SRT and follow this with interest.PS The price of these has SRTs have gone up around $10000.00 since I started looking a year ago. There appears to be no current fix ,Even new crate motors are failing.Engine rebuilders Eg Dontex in Melbourne specialise in rebuilding these hemis. No new oil pump. However whether their motors are still ok when reaching the failure ks of 50000ks on will be interesting.4 out of 10 I looked at had had rebuilds ornew engines fitted. ! The SRT is a great ride ,however its like playing russian roulette everytime you start it up.
I really respect your insight and knowledge on the subject so I don't think that you are incorrect. Compared to my own position I find your position a little alarmist but that doesn't mean my position was the most sensible to start with.

Those effected make a lot of noise about it and rightfully so. But unfortunately I feel many have been bitten way harder than warranted from various sources increasing their pain and volume. I've heard of outcomes as bad as virtually writting off a vehicle to crate engine replacements, full engine rebuilds etc. In my experience none of which would be necessary in all but the most extreme case.

Combined with the opinion of a couple of trusted mates I believe we know the failure cause. And we have identified 2 different fixes. One of which I have partially implemented on my own engine. But I lack the time to finish up the machining right now and get it fully operational. Even then I'll have to do 100 150k and tear the engine down again just to verify it has made any difference.
