Guys, not to empty your pockets but in my experience ( +20 years as a profesional mechanic) I'd advise you to go FULLY SYN on our CRD's.

Why?

If you do your own oil change: put your hand in the oil you just drained. If it stains your skin for the next 2 weeks you know your oil is crap.

Why?

That stain is caused by carbon leftovers that haven't been embedded by the little cleaner bugs in your engine oil (sorry, can't explane it any better in English). A good oil 'eats' dirt like white bloodcels, (maybe that makes better sense) so the dirt or carbon / metal residue gets totaly covered by a coat of oil, prohibiting that bugger to scratch your bearings or pistons.

I use a fully syn oil, MOBIL 1 5W40, specialy designed for high pressure diesels.

Yes it's expensive. So is an engine overhaul...
