Apart from the knocks driving me nuts,
the front tyres were scrubbing out really bad
Finally managed to track down the noise to the upper control arm inner bushes.
Everytime I'd hit the brakes the inner bushes would slide forward
I needed to drop the struts to remove the inner bolts.
After removal the top ball joints were showing no movement but
there was no tension left in them.
A new set of bolts & JBA Upper Arms fixed all that.

Can steer it with one finger.
Now I've only got brake pad rattle to annoy me.
