I'll keep that in mind! I paid attention to where they said to cut carefully, alas though it said you can tell where the braces are by the foam used to stick it to the skin, I found that was not always the case...
The lining came out about 7 years ago... It was mud encrusted from the PO I I couldn't clean it. Also had some damage & was hanging down in places, so out it came. It was also so hot under there, I figured letting the heat get straight to the bonnet might make a
marginal difference.

Cut it out & smoothed down the edges, then primed & painted. That's supposed to be flat black, (I ran out of satin black). Threw in a couple of braces where the cut went a bit too deep... Oops.

I now have all the holes drilled, but found the damned fasteners are all imperial. A 3mm allen & 10mm socket
sort of work well enough to tighten them up, but one seized while removing them after drilling the pilot holes. It wasn't tight, the nut was half was off when it stuck & reamed out the allen head. Ended up using the grinder to get the little bastard out...
