A butane hand torch or oxy with a small tip to heat it up.
Silver solder to weld. Ask for 2% or yellow tip. It's the cheapest at about $2.50 list per stick & is all you need for what you're doing.
Flux- not needed with above solder.
You can buy it at Bunnings or any refrig wholsaler (there's a few out your way). I got a fair bit of the stuff & softdrawn copper left over from jobs. If it can wait, i'll bring some with me to the next meeting.
