A couple of other tips from a seasoned user / abuser:
1) It is worth marking the adjusting ring and the body of the deflator with a permanent marker to make it easier to count your half turns
2) I have a couple of sets that have been preset at specific psi. Rather than use the spare, I've found that a more accurate way of doing it (assuming you have access to a stanard workshop compressor) was to make up a small piece of pneumatic hose with a tyre valve on one end and a male hose fitting on the other. I set the pressure on the valves of the compressor and ajust the deflators from that. Any variances from setting them from the spare will be minor but I like having them perfectly the same especially when relying on them at comps
