But the closest size i can find in the 697's is 265/65/17.......im just wondering if i will lose tyre height and by how much?
Gday mate, I use this site to work out tyre sizes:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalcold.html

The stock tyres are 31.5" tall, where as the new tyres are 30.6" tall. Basically you'll lose half an inch in clearance.

Hope this has been helpful
