Default Better Site at Night: Rigid Industries Site Series

There are a number of situations where a portable yet reliable light source is needed to illuminate a large area. Sometimes it’s an emergency scene, where first responders and subsequent crews need a good light source do their critical jobs effectively.

Other situations might involve lighting a remote pit for a desert-racing team, illuminating a boat dock, or even adding light to the jobsite for after-hours work. Even if it’s simply lighting up the campfire area around the toy hauler, the Rigid Industries’ Site Series™ provides an easy way to light up a fixed area with the same reliability you’ve come to expect from Rigid’s many other product lines.

The Site Light packs a lot of lighting power in a compact package. The all-new 80/40 Optics are further enhanced with 20-degree side beam angles, which all add up to a broad forward-facing beam that’s nearly parallel with the lighting fixture. The 48 powerful LEDs are mounted in a durable extruded aluminum housing that is available with a white or black powder coated finish. The handle makes it easy to transport the light, but it can also be removed for more permanent lighting applications.

Rigid Industries’ Site Series provides the flexibility to light any area and provides the mobility to easily move the lighting source with changing conditions. Inside the light are 48 powerful LEDs that are available with three different types of optic configurations to suit a variety of needs. The first is the all-new 80/40 Optic, which offers a broad beam that is 80 degrees wide and 40 degrees tall. These optics produce a very broad beam of light and is suitable for illuminating a large area. The Hybrid Flood Optics also produce a broad beam but are slightly more focused to illuminate a more defined area over a slightly longer distance, while the Combo beam featuring the 80/40 and Hybrid Spot optics provide relatively narrow beam for a long distance. The broad range of optics enables the Site Series to be used for variety of applications and offers a wider area of coverage than conventional lighting.

The Site Series’ includes a convenient handle for carrying and adjusting the position of the fixture, but the handle can also be removed if needed. The included heavy-duty mounting bracket has a tilt feature that makes aiming the light easy, while anti-vibration pads are included to reduce fixture shake. The standard mounting bracket allows the Site Series to be mounted on any flat surface.

Other mounting options are available that enable the Site Series to be used in a variety of emergency, mining, industrial, and recreational applications. One of the more popular mounting methods involves placing the light atop an extendable pole mount that can be fixed in the bed of a service vehicle or on a piece of heavy equipment, providing convenient overhead lighting for a large area.

On a deadline at the job site? The Rigid Industries Site Light can help finish up the prep for that next crew showing up first thing in the morning. A single Site Light can illuminate a large area outside on the job, while AC-powered versions can light up a whole room so you can finish the task at hand.

For even more flexibility, Rigid offers the Site Series lights in both AC and DC versions. The DC-powered versions can be run on10-16-volts for the Low Voltage version and 16-48-volt system for the Standard DC version and are intended to be hard-wired to a battery source. There are open leads on the fixture for the installer to add the necessary wiring, connectors and switches that are needed for a permanent installation on a vehicle, piece of heavy equipment, camper, or RV. Due to the wide range of applications and potential uses, a wiring harness is not included with the DC lights. The AC versions include a cord with a conventional three-prong plug and can be powered by any outlet. Thanks to Rigid’s advanced LED lighting technology, the site series requires a small fraction of the power needed compared to a traditional incandescent light (21.7 amps at 14-volts or 10.7 amps at 24-volts for DC versions, and 2.4 amps at 120-volts for AC versions), so the Site Series places much less load on batteries, vehicle electrical systems, and generators, all while offering double the light output compared to conventional lighting.

The Site Series is designed to be used for hours on end and is protected in a finned extruded aluminum housing that is available with a durable black or white powder coated finish. An advanced heat sink and Gore pressure-equalizing vent help protect the LEDs and prevent overheating, and Site Lights are further backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

It’s also highly durable; aside from the sturdy mounting brackets, there’s a scratch-resistant and UV-coated polycarbonate lens along with heavy-duty polarity-protected circuitry that is capable of handling the harshest work conditions.

One of the best features of the Site Series is that it packs a lot of light output into a very compact package. The Site Series measures just 6.5 inches tall by 14.2 inches wide and is a slim 2.8” deep while weighing in at less than 9 pounds.

This small footprint makes it easy to mount the Site Series just about anywhere, whether it’s a building, boat, toy hauler, or agricultural equipment. With so many optic choices available, the Site Series is a great solution anytime and anywhere a lot of light is needed.
