I don't have a pic of the 12mm dia hole drilled in the pan, but drill that where you want the drain plug first.

Carefully plan where the drain plug should go. Watch out for valve body/filter/other protrusions inside the pan so the drain assembly doesn't foul with anything when you put the pan back on.



Make sure the pan is dead flat and smooth where the mating surface for the assembly is going, after you drill the hole.



I sparingly tacked the nut onto the pan in 3 places. Make sure the nut is held flat against the pan during welding/brazing, other wise the pan will most likely deform between the nut and the copper washer over time...and drip drip drip on your drive will annoy









Refinish the exterior mating surface of the pan around the nut
