Any malfunction codes to indicate something not connected? Throttle control would be my first guess, since you say that pressing the throttle does not change the revs.
Next question is; could there be an air leak, something not sealed properly?
A TBS just adds a little more volume to the manifold and may adjust the airflow a little as it goes from he throttle body into the manifold. Other than if something is not plugged in correctly, there is nothing I can think of to go wrong there.
