I'm on the beach all the time with my Wrangler and a part from a lift and a skid plate I wouldn't bother with chemical rust proofing. The skid plate doesn't do a great deal but it helps like a ramp when you are axle deep.

Tow hooks are a good idea for the front and if you have a Hayman Reese type tow hitch then get yourself a hitch that you can attach a D shackle to.

A set of recovery tracks are also a must. These are indispensable when on sand.

Chemical rust proofing isn't needed. When you get home, set up a water sprinkler underneath your vehicle and wash out the salt and sand with fresh water for 30 - 40 mins.

Stay away from driving at the water's edge. Driving through saltwater is not only stupid, it's dangerous.
