Wire vs Rope.......you see a lot of arguing.
I figure they're "horses for courses".......use it regularly, especially over rock, and you'd be better off with well maintained wire.
For me, with my occasional use, I have a sliding chafe cover and keep a UV cover over the synthetic on the drum.......so I think I'm better off with synthetic for my use.
I don't think there is a right or wrong on cable choice.....just what works best.
With the thought on using the small Quad bike style winches as a rear winch, I'd be concerned about the capacity of the brake in those small winches to hold the weight of a large vehicle......I'm not sure they would stand up to it.
Anyone want to test one?
