Thanks! It's a tad too late for sand and water as I'm coming back from Fraser Island and realised there that I had this clunking noise, and the had a look at the shaft...
By the way it is the boot on the transfer case side, not the one in the middle (this one is not critical).
It's only making noise under heavy load (4H under strong acceleration or 4L tuning on sand), and have avoided 4wd since, but it must have had a fair bit of sand and salt water
...
I'll try to take it easy and get a new teeaflex rzeppa in Melbourne
