When you take it off check out the U-Joint
Mine went bad and eventually seized one way but had worn the front pinion bearing over time.
Might be worth replacing whilst you've got it removed if its done a lot of miles including water crossings.
Its tack welded in, so you would need to take it to a drive shaft specialist to get it replaced and shaft re balanced.
