Just did mine on the weekend.
The one on it was pretty well stuck on .
Had to get it off with a blade.
Mine thermostat didn't come with gasket.
Made a gasket from the cardboard on the high temp black silicone I bought.
Thin layer on each side. And all seems good so far. I even have a hot heater finally.
