No worries Mudgee,

Ive had a bit of experience with the dizzies now and its all in my VSB XJ thread.
There is a few problems with the original dizzies when they have done a lot of k's. I swapped in a cheap Chinese after my original started chirping. Ran like crap with the aftermarket one. I then fitted a grease nipple to my original and it worked great again.
So.... i found another low kilometer Sagem (original OEM) distributor in good condition to keep as a spare, and i fitted a grease nipple in that one too.
Its now in the XJ and she is running great.

Each time i swapped a distributor in and out, i just used the rotor button position as a reference, take one out, and put one back with the rotor button in the exact same position. Works perfectly everytime.. except for the cheap Chinese dizzy that i have since dumped.
