From personal experience with the Hankooks, you should expect to find noise increasing, and wet-weather grip decreasing around the 65,000km mark. They still had 'tread' left at 70,000km but were almost down to the wear indicators, and the GC was becoming quite tail-happy when, for example, applying excess power on wet roundabouts (as you do...
).
I changed them out for a set of Bridgestone D697s prior to a long trip north and for greater puncture protection on a forthcoming visit to the Flinders among other stops. Subjectively, the D697s are about as noisy as the Hankooks were at end of life, while the grip level is back to acceptable on wet tarmac, although less fun.
