For a long time it was a straight swap front to back at the 10,000km service interval, a routine I fell into while owning a succession of Subarus. However, a significant pothole hit on the left front at around 45,000km on the Hankooks resulted in substantial 'feathering' on the inside edge that I didn't notice until the constant whirr-whirr noise made me think a wheel bearing was on the way out. After the necessary wheel alignment fix I changed to a front-to-rear diagonal rotation and that eventually wore down the feathered edge.
As an aside, the speed with which 550Nm of diesel V6 can motivate a 2.xT Jeep, particularly from a standing start, remains a source of bemusement even after 6 years of ownership.
