Because the newer mount is softer than the old one, the transfer case can contact the oem skid, so I opted to keep it off for now.

Mine is in transit from Rock Auto, due next week. Thanks for the heads up about the OEM guard. I also have one fitted. I'll check the clearance after fitting the new mount.
