Make sure that the timing belt tensioner and the idler pulleys (2) are changed at the same time. On a 2005, which is now 8 years old i'd also replace the water pump which is driven by the timing belt and is easier to do when the belt is changed. Make sure the job is done by someone that knows what they are doing with VM diesels.

Hmm, my 2006 has around 70k kms and as far as I know is on the original belt... It has been serviced on time since new, although not at a jeep service centre for the last few years - how would I know if it had been changed?
