Dash lights remain on & battery going flat
Hi all, I have had my 2014 SRT for 4 months now and have got my first issue.
An engine light showed, I garaged the car and the battery was flat the next day. Assuming the engine light was for low battery voltage I installed a new battery. Now the dash cluster lights remain on even when the car is turned off and locked and the battery drains if left connected.
I have been driving the car around with no issues at all, I disconnect the battery each night to prevent it from going flat.
Now I have taken my car to a Jeep dealer who reckons it is a Faulty Transmission Control Module causing the lights to stay on and battery to drain. They said I need to replace this TCM as well as the Transmission Valve Body for $10k.
This seems odd to me because I haven't had any issues with the gears or transmission. This car does have a history of loose wires being repaired under warranty back in 2016.
I'm thinking of taking the jeep to an auto electrician to see if they have any ideas.

Double ditto to all of the above .............. change the valve body be buggered, if that was a problem you wouldn't get it out of the shed........ stay away from dealers and have a good wander around this site, lots of info, good reliable info and links.....
Certainly a sparky who has played with these things is a good start, I wonder what the problems where and if its possibly what I think it is, the relay BS fix.

Its like there is a dead short somewhere, has there been any aftermarket elec accessories fitted such as a Hard Wired Dash Cam, has it got a trailer plug fitted thats been mangled due to being in contact with the ground, but for god sake DONT let the dealer have it, Listen to the boys above as a few have been stung by Dealers Gross Lack of problem solving abilities

What gearbox does your srt have, the ZF 8 speed?
If your dash lights are on all the time then any auto electrical man should be able to trace where the fault is

Thanks so much for the replies everyone!
There's no aftermarket accessories on the car that I know of and I haven't fitted any.
I'm pretty sure it is the 8-Speed ZF 8HP70 Transmission.
I will definitely take your advice and go to an auto electrician. I'm located in Brisbane if you have recommendations but I'll have a search through the forum and see what I can find.
