Default CJ7: Starting over

Two teenage sons, a mate, one weekend and myself was all that was needed to move my Cj to its new home. This may be a long and slow thread but i'll try and update as something happens. For those of you that dont know I've owned a 1980 Cj 7 for the last four years, in that time its been painted and is now ready to be built. The plans are for a moderate lift 4" to run probably a 35" mtr. It will have a 360 chevy, atlas 2 transfer case and an auto gear box.
So now we'll see what happens. First step is to remove all the stuff stored in it and then clean the layer of dirt of it. Here it is in its new home

Wow, that is a impressive garage entrance. Be happy to have that for the main doors into the house!
Also, never come across a 360 Chev before? AMC yes but in Chev only 350 or 355 that are close to that cubic inch?

Default if you want it done right......

and you have the time... the knowledge or just an attitude of giving it a go, do it yourself it turns out better in the end and is more fun

Great new home and lots of space so lets see some updates soon.

One thought is 35's will need more than a 4inch, my 33's rubbed in the rear right though the flares on full flex till I added a 1 inch body lift. Though all now seems a little hgh, given the time again I'd probably switch out the CJ rear flares for TJ flares and chop rather than going higher.

Go build it !!

The main thing is it will now get built. Where it was It had no hope of being finished. It has yj flares and has been trimmed extensively by previous owner. I may not have the talent but luckily I have lots of friends that do. Original plan was to run 37" but ill adjust plans according to budget. I just want to get it on the road using yj springs and maybe change later on. plan to have this truck for a while so ill see how it evovles
