Default WK2 Fuel Economy

Fuel economy isnt a massive issue for me but I thought I'd let you know about a recent trip we did through Victoria in our WK2 diesel.

On the run from Sydney to Euhuca the trip computer indicated 8.1l/100. We then went from Echuca to Bendigo, across to Halls Gap for a bit of dirt road driving, Warrnabool, Great Ocean Rd to Torquay, Ballarat and then home to Sydney.

As I pulled into my driveway in Sydney the trip computer showed 8.0l/100 for the whole 3000km trip, covering the Hume, back roads and a bit of dirt, plus running around in the various towns we stayed in. Load was two adults and two kids and our gear for two weeks.

So I'm pretty happy with that!

My 3.6 is getting about 12l/100 in a normal week, this is about 40% town and 60% highway. Just did a highway run to Chinchilla and got around 10.6l/100, this had a little town driving thrown in though so I reckon I could probably get 10 on a pure highway run.
