Default Best guages, code readers for crd?

Hi guys,
I figured its time i get around to purchasing some gear, to help me understand whats going on with my jeep. and clear any error codes if they come up....
I know i need a procal, but have no idea what guages i should get when it comes to my jeep, as certain features won't work with a crd...
I have a 07 crd unlimited

Thanks for your help,
Matt

If you want a traditional round gauge the Aeroforce are good. Double Black supply them. There are also other "GPS" style units designed more to sit on the dash or windscreen.

As you say there are functions not available on the diesel as some actually don't apply and others aren't catered for. Pretty standard across all the brands as they come out of the US.

The Aeroforce has extra channels and i've fitted a pyrometer interface to one in the past so you can measure turbo discharge temperature - not a bad option IMO especially if tuned or worked hard.

However mounting any extra gauges is a bit of a challenge in a JK ( and most new cars ) unless you belong to the butcher school of car modifications. DBOR used to sell A pillar gauge pods but they dropped them as the quality went downhill bigtime. IIRC it was a mate of "Hunty" that made them...,, He may have improved them again but...... they were VERY rough at the end.

If you don't want a fulltime gauge rather a scantool that you can plug in when needed be aware that once again not all tools show all codes ( why ? )
Also some only give you the error code with no translation to the actual fault which isn't really that useful without a lookup table. And finally the better ones are tuning tools but for the petrol engines so will have lots of functions that will be unused on a CRD. Can also be quite expensive.

DBOR no longer sell the aero force gauges, they do however have others. I know Bill tested the Billy dog unti which seems alright, also has some tunes available. But as mightymouse said functions wil depend on which model.

Well as of three o'clock today there was one in the DBOR showroom... so if you want it I get in quickly if they are dropping them.

Must have no duals, rang up a week ago and no longer stocking them, nor hand any stock of duals. You can buy them direct from Aeroforce but.
