Question 6months + and still no go is it the ECU

Hi all,
I have previously posted on this. My ZG carked it over 6months ago (all the symptoms pointed to the crank sensor everything just died)and since have replaced Crank sensor, TPS,MAP, IAC, timing chain, vacuum lines and checked leads, plugs distributor, cam sensor, earths. I have tried resetting the computer, swapped batteries. Everyone tells me it's got to be something simple but cant tell me what. Basically it will start but idles rough as if any amount of power is applied it just gets worse when allowed to drop back to idle it dies. The only thing left could be the computer. The ZG has 330,000km on the clock and is/was a treat to drive just want it back on the road.
It's a jeep thing
Many Thanks

I had a similar problem with my CJ, turned out the problem was caused by a bad connection at the ECU, I replaced the plugs on the loom & it runs sweet now, used to throw a TPS code & couldn't reset it, the ECU thinking the throttle was always WOT, so would start & idle but as soon as I touched the throttle it would stall due to over fueling, is yours blowing lots of black smoke? That could be a giveaway

How old is fuel as it goes stale.
Have you checked fuel pressure at fuel rail, what is injector spray pattern like ?
Done compression check ?
Honestly doesnt sound like internal computer fault, also check /clean all electrical terminals.
As yetiboy said , is there any smoke etc.
