Default Throttle Controller

Does the 2.7 CRD have an electronic throttle.
Can i fit a throttle controller.
I noticed a wire comes from the pedal to a box under the bonnet.
This has a plug on it. Does that turn the position of the wire
into an electronic signal. Could i plug a throttle controller in there.

Yes, electronic. The cable does a full tour of the engine bay, crosses over to the left and into the throttle position sensor mounted on a bracket on the left of the engine on the firewall - above the EGR valve.

Also where the cable is connected to the pedal there is a bit of play in the cable.
Would it be of any benefit if there was some way of making the cable shorter or getting rid of that play somehow

If the TPS reads 100% when you floor it, then there is nothing to gain. The free play in the cable is normal.

Anything is possible but I've never seen a box that will plug and play though.

Not sure there's a need either IMHO.
