Default Overheating

Ok, I have a 2014 WK GC diesel, and until recently the temp sat just over a 1/4, and the engine temp no more that 110, except when towing, and the maybe went to half and engine temp might have gotten to around 120. Then about 2 months ago started to overheat. Have replaced the water pump with new thermostat, water bypass tube and the oil cooler water hose. Now after about 20-30 mins the the engine temp gets to about 105 and the gauge goes half to orange really quickly. No water loss.

Is this temp rise when towing ,are your fans working.Did you bleed the system.
I would also take it to a radiator guy to do a sniff test for hydro carbons etc, plus a leakdown pressure test.Temp sender unit .ok.?

There has been a few people having temp problems which turned out to be the thermostatic valve in the gearbox lines to the cooler. Usually shows up worse when towing. I believe the valve is under $100
Good luck

The 8 speeder cooler is a stand alone, so doesn't effect the engine cooling...

Engine temp is oil temp so at 105 thats about normal but not for the coolant gauge........... Certainly points to a flow problem, when you swapped out your pump did you just top up coolant or give a flush and use new stuff ???
Is there a good flow back to header tank and its not foaming ??

I'd be checking that the thermostat hasn't toppled and jammed, give it a test to make sure it opens..

Check hoses internally to make sure one hasn't come apart inside and blocking flow.

Radiator has gunged up is also a possibility......
