Any one else having a good laugh at the navigation?
In my home town there are quite a few streets missing from the map. We are on a road trip to the Gold Coast and the navigation from Brisbane to the Holdie is tragic. There have been many times I have seen a left turn arrow displayed as the next turn when the voice is saying turn right, then when we we entered the M3 the voice started repeating over and over "Restricted Zone" ??? We both lost confidence in the navigation system and resorted to our mobile apps. Is this stuff fixable? It's a joke!
Yes it's absolutely awful. I love being told to turn half left or half right. What on earth is that! Then there's the pronunciation which in some cases reminds me of the joke accents you can download for your mobile GPS
Sent from my SM-N910G using Aussie Jeep Offroad mobile app
Are any nav systems near perfect? Name pronunciation seems to be phonetic so keeping that in mind helps, the half left/right feature is handy where the road diverges rather than turns sharply so that's a plus in my book.
The dash display is great for a driver with the turns showing right in front in place of the digital speedo as well as on the big centre screen. I use mine all the time and have found it about 98% accurate with the occasional usually minor glitch.
Was listening to Tenterfield Saddler by Peter Allen in the TH other day, thought I would do a search for the late George Wallno's street High st, in Tenterfield. Navigation system Fail, no Tenterfield.
On a side note: has anyone discovered that the car will 'read' text messages sent to you on an android phone? When my partner is driving the Jeep, I like to end every text message I send him with "... In 300 metres, turn left"

Raise it as a warranty issue then because High Street, Tenterfield came up on mine. After changing from Queensland to NSW as the relevant State.
