Default What tyres are people using on their WK2's

Long time reader first time poster

As the title says,
Im after some options on what to run tyre wise as the original michelins are close to the end of their usefulness .Our Wk2 is on the factory 18's at the moment it is the wife's daily that we also use to tow our jayco swan when we go away camping. We have started to do more free camping and trying to get away from caravan park holidays. I'm after a good tyre that isn't to noisy on the road and still good for a bit of off-road stuff.

Thanks

Brett

We're running the Dick Cepeck Trail country 265/60/18,( did try the 265/65/18 size but didn't like the increased throttle % to get them moving when towing the van), I chose them after having had 3 sets of DC's FC-II on the old PATROL they should work well
cheers

I'm on my second set of Bridgestone D697 LT265/60R18, still, as far as I know, the only LT in that size.

Many kilometres on rough roads and tracks.

Cheers

Sounds like you want a more road biased AT tyre? I'd probably go for Pirelli scorpions.

I replaced the OEM with Hankook Dynapro ATM and they are a good quiet and slightly aggressive tyre for all round use.

+1 for the Hankook Dynapro ATM if your off-road intentions are minimal as they're not LT-rated. Mine have now done over 50,000kms and I can recommend them for wear, ride, grip (tar and dirt), low noise and price. Not even close to the wear indicators yet so probably good for another 20,000kms at least.
