We have stayed at Rainbow Shores at Rainbow beach a few times. It's 30 seconds from town for all the little things and about 50 minutes from gympie, 1hr from Maryborough, 1.45 hrs to Harvey Bay, 1.5hrs down the beach to Noosa and 10 minutes from the Fraser Island barge for day trips over there so it's a good base for exploring the coast.
