Default 2007 Grand Cherokee Issues

I recently bought a 2007 Grand Cherokee Limited and have two issues that don't appear to be mentioned elsewhere on this forum and would appreciate some advice.

The first is that when descending a relatively steep slope in high range first gear the engine holds low revs for a period but then suddenly rises in revs with a corresponding increase in road speed. On the same hill my Commodore Adventra hold the low engine revs for the entire descent. I must also say that my earlier 2004 Grand Cherokee Limited also behaved like the 2007 model.

The second issue is that after using the windscreen wipers and washers the wipers give one dry wipe of the windscreen when turning off the ignition and again the next time that the ignition is turned on. This doesn't happen if I haven't used the wipers or washers during a trip.

Any of you V8 guys know the answer to this? 2 to many cylinders & wrong transmission for me.

If left on auto my wipers will dry wipe at start up, I believe its caused when the battery is a bit low.

In fact low voltage will cause all sorts of unusual behaviour with these Grands.

Thanks for your reply Clarke. I believe that low battery voltage does affect the grand Cherokee as well as many other makes of vehicle including late model Mercedes and BMWs. I replaced the battery which came with the jeep and was a 650 CCA with an 860 CCA battery with a minor improvement but I cannot set the wipers for rain sensing without the wipers dry wiping every tome that the ignition is switched either on or off.

I just bought a set of LED headlight globes base on the information in the workshop and owners manual both of which state that the low beam lights are 9006 globes. 9005 and 9006 are very similar with the same globe socket as with my earlier 2004 Grand Cherokee. But the low beam sockets on my new jeep are very much smaller diameter than either a 9005 or 9006 globe.

I understand that there was a globe change in the later WH Grand Cherokee but I haven't been able to find out what the type of the later globe so any advice would be most welcome.

Here is a HID upgrade for high beam
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301286365...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

For LED low beam I wouldn't get the ones with the LED on the end as the light would be blocked by the defuser in the headlight.
