I've gone the lazy option, through the door opening and behind the dash.

Mine have been like that for over two years without the wiring snagging on anything.
Even managed to bust the lights off on both sides - wiring was still OK.

But I do have the connectors easy to pull out (right behind the dash) in case they need to be disconnected quickly for any reason.

Mine are slightly different will get a pic (if wanted?); opposed to having the protective conduit casing, I put about 3mm of adhesive padding on the inside of the light bracket and ran the wires in between the windshield hinge and then keeping the two wires flat ran them up in between the bracket & body to a hole I drilled in the bracket immediately behind the light, where they come out and connect to the lights.

The wires are on the outer edge of the bracket bolt holes. Then I just tightened up the brackets to allow a flush fit; the padding encases the wires to prevent damage and they are unseen, except for where they connect to the lights. The brackets are fully flush with the body. Been like this with no issues for 10 years.
