Default Garvin Adventure Rack

Anyone seen or running a Garvin Adventure Rack? Cant really find anything out there on them.
Wondering how they compare to the Kongo Cage.

I know DBOR sell them, bit more in my price range than a GOBI

I don't know about the adventure rack but I have the Kongo Cage from DBOR and I'm very happy with it. It is 50 bucks less for the 4 door and it will support and extra 200lb more then the adventure rack. 500lb total.

I did Deep Creek track 1 last weekend with about 200kg on the roof and the racks rubber mounts both front (not included in the adventure rack from what I can see from the pics) and back flexed well over the bumpy stuff very well. The Kongo Cage ruber mounts did make a lot of noise but the frame never contacted with my JK.

Consequently, I now have an $800 pile of scrap plus I'm out of pocket a further $300 for a new windscreen.

To add insult to injury, Kargo Master's warranty is worthless. They say "if you bend it, we'll fix it", but this is bullshit. It took THREE months and scores of emails for them to finally deny a warranty claim.

Long story short,
Kongo Cage = Fail
Kargo Master Customer Service = Fail
Kargo Master Warranty = Didn't fail cos there is no such thing

They were magnanimous enough to offer replacement longitudinal bars for $100 plus postage, which another month later they can't even be bothered to advise how much postage would cost.

The only thing I can credit is DBOR's service, who kept me up to speed with Kargo Master's contemptible PR and disregard for customers, though at the end of the day I still got screwed.

STEER CLEAR OF THE CONGO CAGE AND ANY KARGO MASTER PRODUCTS. They are paper clips for decoration only. I would have preferred the Gobi rack but it's extortion at the best part of three thousand dollars. That said, by the time I bring my pile of scrap Congo Cage up to a serviceable standard it will owe me half that.

Don't buy a Congo Cage.
If you bought the rack from dbor it's up to them to warrant rack as they are the importer, that's the problem with a lot of Aussie shops they try & palm you off & blame someone else on their poor service, I would be hitting them up for the replacement windscreen as it was caused by the faulty product, don't take no for an answer

I want a front drive shaft so I can go 4 wheeling

I had a Congo cage on my JK. I bought through Quadratec. The cage split the welds at the front cross bar. Also the longitudinal tubing bent in the middle (they are too long and too thin). Also, The windscreen was cracked when bolts contacted it. I had to turn the bolts around to stop this happening. I had the cage on the JK for about 3000km and only had 2 tyres on it in this time (75kg). Quadratec/Kargomaster gave me a refund of the cost of the cage.

Same here - i tried out my Kongo Cage over easter - loaded up with Roof tent and Gazebo on Stradbroke Island - no issues at all. Moves around a bit - but never touched any part of the jeep.
Tilted without any problem even with the tent on to drop the soft top. I don't leave it on all the time as its pretty noisy - and also because it touches the garage frame on the way into my stupidly low garage....and thats with stock suspension....

Was the cage empty or loaded when this happened, If loaded what did you have on it and how long had you been traveling.

Completely agree with that ! It's upto DBOR to replace this rack they are the importer ! The sad thing is I'm pretty sure I heard a similar thing a while ago about shocks supplied by DBOR ! If that's the way they do things there is no way I'll buy from them. They should have replaced everything need there and then.
