What problems do you have with it?
Canbus not related to anything here. No computers involved. It plugs into your battery, with a relay to switch it on wired to something which goes live when the engine is on (e.g. ciggie lighter socket, at least on 2010). If you have problems most likely the harness is kaput (cheap relay, cheap 50A circuit break which overheats in the little supplied black box) or there is a poor connections somewhere.
Aside..
I replaced my 65A Thumper with a a 55AH Optima D34 and a DCDC charger, wired up to my needs. I should have done the job properly the first time around...
Anything plugged in to the unit needs space because the plugs extended beyond the outer profile of the Thumper unit, and it doesn't save the effort of vehicle wiring if you want to avoid an un-fused nest of cables. Additionally it was lacking appropriate sockets for my needs (I like Anderson plugs on everything, and the one 50A plug on the unit is used for charging, so I had to build a distribution board with appropriate fuses to suit my needs...)
Never ran it down < 10.5 volts (considered empty for most purposes because battery damage tends to occur below that point), yet after a year of occasional use and always connected to the car battery, it was barely holding charge to manage an overnight stopover, and at the time I replaced it, even a trip to the supermarket to keep meat and milk cool was beyond it. I guess a cell may have gone in one of the multiple cheap Chinese 12V UPS type batteries within, and multiple battery units means multiple chances one will fail, or perhaps it was the poor internal soldering oxidizing and causing a resistance issue... Maybe I just got one which was built on a Friday or a Monday...
Warranty means nothing when you have to pay the shipping costs for most people...
If I really wanted a unit I could move between vehicles, I would get one which only has a single battery of my choice. e.g. Ark etc.
