Default Xj revs up and doesn't come back while driving.

So I was about to leave for work after fitting my new spotties and the car wouldn't start. Weird because it started after I finished the job earlier. I took to front hrs off and had a look around. Everything looked normal. The car had plenty of battery and made one click when I turned the key. Then all if a sudden it decided to start. So I take off down the road and the car would rev up but not go up a gear. If I let go of the throttle the revs would go down. Then foot back on the peddle and the revs would shoot up almost like it was half in neutral. wtf is going on.

I did play around with the injectors but by that u mean I took 2 bolts off the railing. Removed the sensor on the first injector. Then thought bugger this and put it all back the way it was. There are 3 cables going to the throttle. The middle one feels loose. Have I broken a cable?

Any advise

Im on nightshift. Just had a thought. Maybe my transmission oil is low. I did lose a little when I did my radiator. Probably only 60ml but maybe it was already low. I'll check it in the morning. Still don't know y it wouldn't start though.

I checked the trans fluid leval when hot and in neutral . It's low. Only just showing on the dipstick. I've had a look under the car and it looks to be leaking somewhere. Oil everywhere.

It was revving a bit high in park. Then had my foot and the brake and put it in drive and it almost stalled and The lights in the car dimmed. Then i put it back in park as the idle came back to normal after 2 seconds.
I'll get some dextron 3 and top it up. Is this the right oil to use?

Not sure if this is the only problem though.

Yes DX3 is correct. The main prob is sounding like its a solenoid issue.

No worries. I hope it's not the solenoid. I just moved the car. Went fine. Didn't get above 10kmh though. But then went to start again and it didn't want to. Had to wiggle the shift around in drive then it started.

Could it be the nss? There is a lot of transmission oil all over the place. Maybe some got in the nss? The reverse lights are not working either. I've checked the fuses under the good and they're all good. I don't have a diagram for them. There is no reverse light fuse under the steering wheel.
