Red face Towing wiring harness - plug&play

Hey Jeepers,

Anyone know of any retailers selling the 7 flat wiring harness individually for the JK Wrangler that is more plug and play than the DTEC from DBOR?

I understand that's still fairly simple with the instructions, but was hoping of a more direct plug in system like the yanks have.

Any info is appreciated!

The Mopar unit is expensive, but works perfectly. If you have the DBOR version, all it takes is a bit of technical know how and some splicing of wires - getting an auto sparky to install it would probably equal the price you'd pay to get the MOpar version.
Check with Northern Motors Group in Bundoora, or any dealer for that matter, to find the wiring harness.

I have heard that is the case. But haven't been able to find any sellers. Happen to know any?

Have been emailing/calling a bunch of places - so far one guys' said you cannot buy the harness separately for the H&R. But I'm going to contact them directly and see, because I'm sure they would.

Here in adelaide the dealer refused to sell me just the wiring harness, and i refused to be reamed by them.

I went with the dbor one. Delivered to my door in less than a day, and it really was quite easy to splice in, just time consuming. We took about three hours including fitting the hitch and trimming the plastic of the bumper. Could be done quicker if necessary but we figured there was no rush. And so far no issues, although i havent towed much as yet.

Sounds promising! I have already installed the hitch and was good fun getting a face full of dirt and dust.

I may just end up going with the DTEC! Be good fun to get into some electrical work too I suppose!

I am very unknowledgable in regards to auto electrical work but it really wasn't too hard to instal the DBOR one. They provide the clips and you just need to slice the plastic coating of the wire and attach them both together colour to colour.

Unfortunately when I did this a few didn't work right and the instructions from DBOR actually had the wrong colours used.

So if you do get the DBOR and set it up yourself you should use a solder to get the connections solid and feel free to confirm with me prior as to which colours were wrong as I think I have the booklet somewhere with my notes on it!
